Visitor Visa Application
Now, let’s start the visitor visa application:
-
Select the type of visa you are applying for, such as visitor visa or super visa.
-
Specify the purpose of your visit, whether it’s as a tourist, temporary worker, or visiting family or friends.
-
Provide details about your visit, including tentative dates and the main intention of your trip.
-
Attach any supporting documents that demonstrate your strong ties to your home country.
-
Remember to keep your visit short and mention that you will return to your home country after your visit. In this example, we are applying to visit a daughter who is an international student to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
When planning a short visit for two weeks, it is important to provide details about your relationship with the person inviting you and why you want to visit. In this section, you should also mention that you can only stay for two weeks due to work commitments, which demonstrates strong ties to your home country. Additionally, include your travel dates, which will be from June 4, 2023, to June 20, 2023. This information is considered part of your Statement of Purpose (SOP), so make sure to provide accurate details. This section is limited to 475 characters, so be concise and clear about your purpose of visit.
Next, indicate when you will enter and leave Canada. If you have had a previous visa rejection, include the UCI number provided. If it is a new case, this field is optional. Save and continue to the next page.
If you are applying on behalf of someone else, select “Yes” and provide the representative information and mailing address. Otherwise, select “No” and proceed. The next section requires the applicant’s details as per their passport. Provide the given name, family name, date of birth, gender, and parents’ names. Save and continue.
In the travel document section, select the type of travel document (e.g., regular passport), country code (e.g., India), and nationality (e.g., India). Enter the passport number, date of issue, and date of expiry. Answer the questions about being a lawful permanent resident of the United States and holding a Canadian visitor visa in the past 10 years. If applicable, provide details about a valid U.S. nonimmigrant visa. Save and continue.
In the personal details section, indicate the country and territory where the applicant was born (e.g., India, Mumbai). If the applicant is a citizen of more than one country, select “Yes” and provide the relevant information. Otherwise, select “No.” Enter the national identity document details, such as the passport number, date of issue, and issuing country. If the applicant has used any other names in the past, provide those details. Save and continue.
Next, provide your current residential address and select whether it is the same as the mailing address. List the country or territory where you currently live and any other countries or territories where you have lived for more than six months in the past five years. Save and continue.
If you have already taken biometrics and they are still valid, select “Yes” and provide the information. If not, select “No.” The biometric application will be sent to you within one or two days. Save and continue.
In the application section, provide the name of the person inviting you (e.g., Hershey) and your relationship to them (e.g., family member or friend). The person inviting you should be from Canada, and you can start typing their address to find it in the list. Save and continue.
Canada Visitor Visa Form Filling 2023
I can provide you with some general guidance on filling out a visitor visa application form for Canada. However, please note that the specific requirements and forms may vary, so it’s always best to consult the official website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Here are the general steps involved in filling out a Canada visitor visa application form:
1. Obtain the application form: Visit the IRCC website or the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate to download the appropriate visitor visa application form. The standard form for a temporary resident visa is called “Application for Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) Made Outside of Canada” (form IMM 5257).
2. Read the instructions: Carefully read the instructions accompanying the application form. These instructions will provide important information on how to fill out the form correctly.
3. Personal information: Fill in your personal details, including your full name, date of birth, gender, marital status, and contact information. Ensure that all the information is accurate and matches your official documents.
4. Purpose of visit: Indicate the purpose of your visit to Canada, such as tourism, visiting family or friends, business, or attending an event. Provide details about your intended activities during your stay.
5. Duration of stay: Specify the intended length of your visit to Canada, including the arrival and departure dates. Make sure your travel dates align with your intended purpose of visit and any supporting documentation you may have, such as flight tickets or hotel reservations.
6. Background information: Answer questions regarding your nationality, citizenship, and immigration history, including any previous visits to Canada. Be honest and provide all requested information.
7. Travel history: Provide details about your previous international travel, including countries visited, dates of travel, and purpose of visits. If you have previously visited Canada, provide the dates and purpose of those visits
8. Family information: Include information about your immediate family members, including their full names, dates of birth, and relationship to you.
9. Financial information: Provide details about your financial situation, including your employment status, income, and any assets or savings. If you are being sponsored or supported financially by someone else, include their information as well.
10. Supporting documents: Attach any required supporting documents, such as a valid passport, proof of travel insurance, proof of funds to cover your expenses in Canada, and a letter of invitation if applicable. Ensure that you follow the specific instructions regarding the format and size of the supporting documents.
11. Signature and date: Sign and date the application form in the designated spaces to certify the accuracy of the information provided.
12. Review and submit: Before submitting your application, carefully review all the information to ensure it is accurate and complete. Incomplete or incorrect applications may result in delays or rejection. Follow the instructions to submit your application, including paying the required fees.
Remember, this is a general overview, and the actual application process may have additional requirements or steps depending on your specific circumstances. It’s important to consult the official IRCC website or seek assistance from a qualified immigration professional for the most accurate and up-to-date information
Which form to fill for visitor visa Canada?
As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the form required for a visitor visa to Canada is the “Application for Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) Made Outside of Canada,” which is also known as Form IMM 5257. However, please note that immigration procedures and forms may change over time, so it is important to verify the most up-to-date information on the official website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
To ensure you have the most accurate and current information, I recommend visiting the official IRCC website at www.canada.ca or consulting with a Canadian embassy or consulate in your country. They will provide you with the latest information and guidance on the specific forms and requirements for obtaining a visitor visa to Canada.
