The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a medical research and education institution based in New Delhi, India. AIIMS was established in 1956 and operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, super–specialty and doctoral courses in medicine and allied sciences. AIIMS also offers various fellowship programmes. AIIMS has 11 centres of excellence which offer advanced training and research in specific medical and surgical specialties.
AIIMS has a total of 3,937 beds, out of which 1,126 are in the main hospital, 1,618 in the teaching hospitals and 1,193 in the residential complex. AIIMS also has a well–equipped library with a collection of over 1.2 lakh books and journals.
The institute has a well–developed infrastructure for teaching, training and research. AIIMS has a fleet of over 100 ambulances, a blood bank, a tissue bank and a disaster management team. AIIMS also has its own water treatment plant and a power generation plant.

1- Undergraduate Courses:
MBBS Duration: 5.5 years
Eligibility: Candidates must have cleared their 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects. Candidates, who are appearing for their 12th standard, are also eligible for the same.
Selection procedure: Admission to AIIMS MBBS is based on the ranking secured by the candidates in the entrance test.

The candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non–creamy layer)/PWD category must have secured a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.
• Candidates who have passed B.Sc. Examination from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Biotechnology and further that the candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English.
• Candidates who have passed in the first attempt the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English and obtained a minimum of 60% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non–creamy layer)/PWD category must have secured a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.
